People often wonder what the perfect age is to move into a retirement village. Generally, many people move in as soon as they turn 55 and others wait until they are 75 or older. There’s no real perfect age – you move when you feel ready!
Research has shown that the majority of Australians move into a retirement village before they reach the age of 85, and most people move in from the age of 65.
For a lot of people, it makes sense to make the move earlier, rather than later. The younger you are, the easier the big move will be.
Moving into a retirement village also means that you will have a great community around you for support and an added sense of security in a safe and secure environment – both important foundations for ageing well.
So, there is no ideal age for moving into a retirement village, but it IS important to start your retirement planning as early as possible.
