Greengate is delighted that its newest senior’s community, St Luke’s Green, has been awarded the Retirement Living Council’s prestigious National Design Excellence Award for Retirement Living 2017.
Project Director Steward Scott commented that, “This award is a genuine testament to the commitment to quality and excellence from the whole team. St Luke’s Green which opened in April 2017 embodies Greengate’s values with an unwavering focus on our residents.”
St Luke’s Green is Greengate’s first senior’s village in Brisbane and follows the 2014 opening of St Brigid’s Green at Maroubra in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. St Brigid’s Green was acknowledged in the 2016 Property Council Innovation and Excellence Awards as the Best Retirement Living Development.
Ben Myers, Executive Director – Retirement Living at the Property Council of Australia, says the benefits of great design go well beyond the physical building.
“In our sector, great design helps foster a sense of community and warmth, and enables retirement community residents to fully enjoy their village living experience,” Mr Myers said.
“St Luke’s Green has been able to combine tradition with fantastic new facilities to create a terrific new community accessible to all, just a couple of kilometres from the centre of Brisbane.”
Located in Brisbane’s inner suburbs in Woolloongabba St Luke’s Green is an integrated senior’s village which is home to 61 independent living retirement apartments and a 61 suite aged care home surrounding the restored St Luke’s Church.
Cheryl Todd, Sales Manager added that, “Many of our residents were involved in our initial focus groups and have seen Greengate listening to what was important to them, how they influenced the design of the village and the superior outcome that provided not only well designed and appointed apartments but access to engaging community areas that supports their social well-being.”
Greengate has two other senior’s communities underway, St Patrick’s Green in Kogarah in Sydney which welcomed its first residents on 4 December, and St Faber’s Green, Auchenflower in Brisbane’s northern suburbs which will be accepting expressions of interest in early 2018.
