Wivenhoe Village at Kirkham Rise has taken out the top award for the most outstanding retirement living development nationally in the Property Council of Australia annual awards.
On winning the award, John Leo, director of the boutique development company ‘Mbark’ behind Wivenhoe Village said, “We are thrilled to the receive recognition of this prestigious award. Wivenhoe Village has proven a very successful project and it remains particularly special, having been conceived in partnership with the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, who are the long-term owners of the land. We are most proud of the social, environmental & heritage outcomes the project has delivered for the local community and the unique offering of ‘redefined retirement’.
This Award is as much a testament to the hard work and commitment of our amazing team, reinforced by the cooperation and support of our residents. We are delighted that our residents can share in this achievement. We are very proud to win the award but also humbled to be in the company of finalists who have produced numerous iconic projects. We are thankful for all the support we have had from the industry and the Wivenhoe and wider community.”
Wivenhoe Village is an over 55’s community designed specifically to have the best homes, facilities and community design, with specialised services and support catering for active retirees. The development includes 149 freestanding homes nestled amongst 120ha of protected Cumberland woodland. With its semi-rural feel and country cottage charm, the homes have been specifically designed to blend in with the local surrounds, to pay homage to and emphasize the beautiful bushland setting and maximise privacy with a smart sense of space and openness.
“Flexibility and adaptability have been identified as key features of the homes. Not only are they wonderful to live in now, but they will allow residents to age in their homes rather than being forced to relocate if their situation changes. This purpose built approach allows for the ‘if and when’ component, where people may require accommodations to make their homes more suited to their needs”
With a selection of floorplans, Wivenhoe Village has something for everyone – from a 2 bedroom + study, single garage home to 3 bedrooms + study nook, double garage. Spacious and storage smart homes mean that while people may be choosing to ‘downsize’ they are by no means compromising. Consider the standard inclusions of underfloor heating to ensuites, gas fire places, Miele cooking appliances, ceiling fans, bamboo flooring and more, it’s clear why more and more people are choosing to live at Wivenhoe Village.
Complete with a beautiful community facility known as the Lodge, residents are free to enjoy the luxury of the indoor heated swimming pool, perhaps a work out in the gym or a movie in the cinema – the choice is yours!
This is the second time the team at Mbark have taken out the top honours, with their sister village, the Arbour Berry, awarded the same recognition in 2014.
