Operation Christmas Child Continues at Resthaven

Independent retirement living residents of Resthaven Bellevue Heights have made an impressive donation to the Operation Christmas Child Initiative, a project they participate in every year.

Throughout the year, residents band together, creating a variety of gifts, ready for vulnerable children to open on Christmas Day.

Retirement Living Coordinator, Jeannie Peace, says, "The preparation extends from one year to the next, so it is always in progress!"

"Samaritan’s Purse put together this initiative to help children around the world have a better Christmas."

"They take donations ranging from toys, hygiene items, school supplies to miscellaneous gifts."

"Residents here are always knitting clothing, beanies and mitts, and toys, so it is the perfect initiative to get them involved in, and they have continued doing this for years!"

"It is one way for residents to give back to the community, and this year, they filled 71 boxes!"

"They can’t wait for their creations to be delivered to the children, they really do work so hard on them."
